Choose a natural dye to research. Examples of dyes could include: 

  • raurēkau (To identify raurēkau see The art of dyeing)
  • lichen (Some lichens are pale green and grow on pavements; others are orange and grow on rocks. Some hang from the branches of trees in the forest.) or
  • cochineal.

Find out more on where these dyes come from and how they are prepared. Present your information to the class. If you can, use examples of these substances in your presentation.
